Well Morgan and I are here at the computer not able to sleep. She just came up to me and said that she didn't think she would be able to sleep tonight either. Poor Joe is upstairs in bed withe the stomach flu, perfect timing... We've got less than 12 hours left before we leave for the 20 + hour journey to Beijing. We leave on Wednesday the 26th and get there on Thursday night the 27th, crazy! Our first full day in China will be spent adjusting to the time and culture change and touring the Great Wall of China and the Hutongs. We also plan on going by the Olympic Stadium area. Then we have to wait until Sunday to actually meet Claire. We will wait patiently:-) --- Melissa
Morgan says: Hi to all my family and friends. I am so excited to be going to China and I will bring back souvenirs for all of you :-) . And I am gonna miss you all. It stinks that dad doesn't feel too good. But I think he is feeling a little better. Anyway I can't fall asleep but daddy fell asleep 2 hours ago.
Me and mom are all ready to go. But the thing that stinks is I'm going to miss some birthdays.

I spoke with Joe, Melissa and Morgan from Minnesota right before they were boarding their flight to China. They were all really excited. Joe is feeling better. Hope to hear from them soon.

Mom-
We went to a meeting at our adoption agency today and saw more pictures of
Claire. She's SO beautiful. She looks a lot older than the previous pictures
but very healthy and happy. It really sunk in that she will be a part of our family soon.
It's Saturday afternoon now and we will be leaving Beijing tomorrow morning to
go to Xian to meet her.
We've had an excellent trip so far. On Friday we went to the Great Wall and it
was snowing. It's been pretty cold and rainy so far. Today we went to the
Temple of Heaven and Tieneman Square. The food has been great. Everyone is so
friendly. Not very many people speak English. We've had an English speaking
guide the entire time, so that's been nice. Actually, our guide that met us at
the airport was named Happy, very appropriate!
Sleep has been interesting. There is a 13 hour difference in time, we're
actually 13 hours in the future. Joe went to sleep at 5 pm last night and woke
up at 3 am. I stayed up until 8 pm and work up at 5:30.
I'm not able to access the blog, it's blocked so I can't send out updates.
